The mass of the Soviet armor fighting around Voronezh suffered heavy losses in the attacks at Gorshechnoe and were forced onto the defensive at the beginning of July. For their part, the Germans mounted a massive assault with substantial air and artillery support. Soviet armor set up tank ambushes on ridge tops and near river crossings as the enemy advanced along roads somewhat muddied by intermittent rains.
Objectives: Your company is deployed along the river in advantageous firing positions. Your platoon is in the village just west of the river crossing. Destroy the enemy converging on the village. Be aware that the Fascists have new tanks that are able to penetrate the T-34 armor.
